I was just last night and today given a very harsh test of this. Not only did I have to maintain presence in my feelings towards what happened, but the thing that happened required an immense amount of presence to just endure and make it through without letting my mind take over.

'The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst.'" (Luke 17:20-21, NIV)
Some translations render the Greek phrase "entos hymōn estin" as "within you" rather than "in your midst."
Most mainstream Christian traditions have not adopted this specific rendering as a primary interpretation.

Hi Mr tole as I watch you I can see that you're in a deep space of peace and quiet. Which is why you're talking slow. This happens to me from time to time. People think I'm sad or depressed. Even when I walk it's like real slow. I'm practicing learning to stay there and I know it changes from time to time. Just there's no other way I'm tired of this dull life you know. All the money that people strive for the modern materialism I just want to puke it up. And take everyone into a circle and just wrap my arms around them it squeeze all the paint out of them so they can get a glimpse of this of who they are and say wow what have I been missing. My main focus is on myself. These are just thoughts and wishes that I have due to my loving relationship with creator but I just want to stay there all the time it's just not easy it's like I wake up every morning with this attitude of defiance. Do I have to go deep in order to be safe from it. At the same time I have this adventurous Spirit to be with my true self are Creator or whatever it is.
If you read the letters sent by Paul about adversities he had experienced to the congregations describes this realization Eckhart is speaking of.
Well, I've officially reached the point where I'm getting nostalgic watching COVID lockdown videos.
Honestly were people that weak that they lived in fear of covid? I get the Gov fear mongered but srs question your Gov rather than take the bait.
I can recall being introduced to this parable as a child. No-one spoke of how it showed that the "Kingdom of Heaven" – inner peace – is accessible to each of us & how to access that inner power by becoming present, watching the breath, feeling the energy inside the body etc. So even now it's still a challlebge learning to sense "Presence" or the energy of the inner body, other than my digestive system digesting my last meal or that sensation that propts a toilet break. The parable was taught as a metaphor for adhering to good values & principles & not about finding the flow of Consciousness to empower self-reliance & awareness to override Ego-ic delusions & temptations away from the truth of us as Light beams co-creating with Source, for the good of all.
I love that he said "so-called pandemic", my term for it from the beginning…
I wish I would have found this 3 years ago. I lost my sister to Covid, I know this was a true blessing to thousands of fearful people. Thank you Mr. Tolle!
